Early in the morning we take the ferry from the Orkneys back to "John O'Groats". At once after the arrival at the mainland we go to "Ackergill Tower Castle". Ackergill Tower is a mightly fortress five floors high and built in 15. century. The castle is a hotel and conference centre today.
Now further on the east coast to the south. The coast-road, leading nearly along the water, invites us to foto-stops again and again. Past the distillery "Clynelish" we reach "Dunrobin Castle" early afternoon.
The well cared gardens of "Dunrobin Castle" stretch terraced down to the sea. Inside there are to see some very nice furnished rooms and pieces of memory to the family of Sutherland.
In the garden we see a very interesting hawks show.
We reach "Dornoch", where we dine in the restaurant "Dornoch Castle Hotel".
