Zion N.P. - Kolop Canyon
Unlike the Grand Canyon, where you look down into a deep gorge, in Zion National Park you stand in the shady valley below and look up at steep cliffs. In some places the cliffs drop 1,000m.
Approximately 150km from Zion National Park you’ll
walk from the Mojave Desert up to the Colorado Plateau to the 2,490 hectare
Cedar Breaks National Monument.
The natural amphitheater is framed by
600m high cliffs. Here, the forces of nature have created bizarre shapes through
erosion - at an altitude of over 3,000 meters.
